Quick post just to say I love the Gathering Place! Getting to photograph it several times this summer is an honor. The kids are amazing and seeing God work is just good for the soul and makes me think what I’m doing is important and is somewhat making a difference.
This week Aaron Keyes was the worship leader and speaker. Homeboy knows the Word and weaved it in and out of the songs teaching a the importance of worship and helped to redefine it. It has to begin with humbleness.
My favorite piece of his talk went something like this… “Don’t approach the fire of God expecting to be warmed. His fire is a consuming fire and will destroy you.” I realize that if I want God to really have my heart, I won’t get warm fuzzies. He will destroy it and replace it with a heart that loves Him. And it’s going to hurt.
And I need it.
