With Amanda working at home, it makes surprises difficult. She knows one is coming when the day of or before a special event I kick her out of the house. She doesn’t mind though. It means she gets to go to Wake Up Coffee Co and read or hang out with friends during the work day. :)
Yesterday was one of those days where I had her leave before I got back with the supplies for our Valentine’s Day date night. And so began the preparations. I was only about 10 minutes behind when she got back so I hurried her with her eyes closed past the kitchen and into our bedroom and shut the door. It probably looked silly.
When I got done we headed downstairs to the packed car and made our way to the secret destination. Our date night venue was St. Andrews beach on Jekyll Island. Out came a couple beach blankets, a picnic basket, and our Canon G12 camera and tripod. We arrived just as the sun disappeared over the horizon and the sky lit up with colors. I grabbed my camera for a panorama.
Then we had Caesar salad and farfalle pasta with tomato basil red sauce. I love occasions to break out sparkling grape juice!
So as we ate it got colder and darker. After a few minutes staring at the stars it got too cold to stay out so we headed back and had a great evening watching tv at home.
A big thanks to my friends Eliot and Beau who helped me think of some of these details.
Camera Info: Canon G12. Panorama made with 18 photos and is 45 megapixels.
